The Cayucos Pier remains a central landmark of the area. Fishing is a popular activity along the Cayucos Pier. Try fishing near the waves for striped bass and spotted bass. In the middle of the pier, you can find boccaccio grouper, tilapia, and silver grouper. At the end of the pier, you can catch small fish to use as live bait (very effective for attracting halibut).
Harmony Headlands State Park preserves an undeveloped parcel of Pacific coast in California. Amenities are limited to a small parking area, portable toilet, and a 1.5mi trail. The trail leads through a marine terrace grassland with views of the Pacific Ocean.
Morro Strand State Beach Day Use Area is a coastal frontage park featuring outstanding picnic sites. A three-mile stretch of beach connects the southern and northern entrances to the beach. Fishing, windsurfing, jogging, and kite flying are popular.
Cayucos is a charming little beach town rich in history and popular for its great beaches. Cayucos State Beach is a sandy beach offering mild weather, watersports such as surfing and swimming, and tidepooling.
